African Brothers

African Brothers started in a township in Hout Bay called Imizamo Yethu in 1999, by a few friends determined to improve the development of football in an attempt to uplift communities affected by the apartheid regime.

On the 15 November 2009, THE LEAGUE Football Magazine in Association with SkyMED!A joined African Brothers at their Football Academy Festival, which is an initiative dedicated at training young disadvantaged kids who have the talent to play football but no one to nurture their talent.

It is for this reason THE LEAGUE Football Magazine has taken the liberty of joining with African Brothers for this event to show our gratitude for starting this initiative. On the day THE LEAGUE Football Magazine also sponsored prize give-aways to the winning teams, top goal scorer, best goal keeper and player of the tournament.

THE LEAGUE Football Magazine HIGH SHCOOL ROADSHOW!!!

During the month of December 2009, THE LEAGUE Football Magazine and its team went on a road show to Camps Bay High School. After doing our research, we found that a large percentage of Football Fans are the Youth, which is why this initiative was created.

The Road show creates awareness for reading and the desire for schools to re establish the sport in their extra-mural curriculum. At the event we had our CEO, Muhammed Dawood address the students and for entertainment we had our very own local Soccer Free stylist Mzukile Madela, which had the crowd roaring with applause.

Looking ahead at this year, 2010 definitely holds a lot in store. Therefore THE LEAGUE Football Magazine will continue with this initiative throughout the year. We are already in the process of approaching more schools and who knows it might just be yours.
So Be There! Be Seen! With THE LEAGUE Football Magazine; THE ONLY FOOTBALL MAGAZINE DELIVERING THE BIGGER PICTURE!

Confederations Cup

During the month of June 2009 we saw the preparation for the world cup kick off at The Confederations Cup, in Johannesburg. The event brought upon huge excitement and gave the worlds nations a taste of what’s to come in 2010.

Our CEO, Muhammed Dawood was in attendance. And at this event there were a group of kids from disadvantaged backgrounds who could only dream of sitting in the stadium, hearing the crowds roar and watching a historic moment take place in the lives of us, South Africans.

It was at that very moment our CEO presented the kids with Confederation Cup Tickets; the smiles on their faces when given the tickets, depicted overwhelming emotions.

It is this reason SkyMED!A goes one step further in making sure we look back at those who are less fortunate than us. Its starts with one and that one can make a big difference in the life of another.
